London London London: Party time!

Two years ago, on November 18th 2010, we opened our European flagship store in Knightsbridge and since then our love affair with London got deeper and deeper.
We visit our elegant boutique (designed, as always, by Roberto himself) as
often as we can, and every time is ...party time!
This month the "excuse" was to celebrate Faraone Mennella 10th Anniversary with the most glamorous London girls and partying every night at hot spots like Annabel's, Lulu's and Art Club!

This is only the beginning, as we are about to take London by storm next year, with the opening of Faraone Mennella and AMEDEO boutiques in Harrods, and more parties: It's all about the glamour, after all!

Autumn Dinner

Tonight, we hosted a very intimate dinner, at one of our favorite restaurants in NYC, in honor of our friends, the always regal and intellectual Princess Alessandra Borghese and iconic german Princess Gloria von Thurn und Taxis. The Waverly Inn, in the West Village, couldn't be a better place to celebrate Autumn in NYC, with it's old charm, the big fire place, the cozy atmosphere, the always fashionable crowd (spotted at other tables were Monica Lewinski, fashion designer Haider Ackermann, and Miramax founder, Harvey Weinstein).
The list of friends who joined us to welcome back Alessandra and Gloria to NYC, was a fun mix of notable newyorkers: our Muse Olivia Chantecaille with her "very-GQ" hubby Ren Grady, BergdorfGoodman's Fashion Director Linda Fargo, author Pamela Fiori, the gorgeous Shirin von Wulffen (Mrs Frederik Fekkai), Andrew Saffir ( founder of Cinema Society) and Daniel Benedict, W's Giovanna Battaglia with her cute sister Sara, Reza Raein with Patricia Suarez de Sola, Vogue's Hamish Bowels, and Vanity Fair's James Reginato who stopped by for drinks and to kiss Gloria and Alessandra.
Princess Gloria (aka "Gloria TNT") is not new to NYC, of course: In the 1980s she became a true, unwilling Fashion Icon, for her pure german blue blood lineage, the "HSH" (Her Serene Highness) title by marriage to Prince Johannes, and the innate revolutionary sense of style and passion for contemporary art, of which she is today a savvy collector.
Alessandra ("Donna Alessandra, dei Principi Borghese") is not only one the most media-exposed and outspoken representatives of Rome's "black aristocracy" (the few princely families loyal to the Pope), but a brilliant journalist and a best-selling author: Her latest book, "La Padrona", is about to be published in Italy and already making the lines!
The dinner went by in a very festive mood, like an old friends' reunion; and there is nothing more rewarding than connecting new friends to old ones, and see them all enjoying a fun evening together.
Thank you, Gloria and Alessandra: you gave us all an elegant fresh breath of air with your (regal) presence! Ciao!

A chic dinner in Washington D.C.

Yesterday, we hopped on the train from New York to Washington D.C., for a special occasion: A dinner honoring President Bill Clinton and Dr. Maya Angelou, hosted by His Excellency the Kuwaiti Ambassador to the USA, Sheikh Saleem Al Sabah, and his chic , elegant and gorgeous wife Rima!
The residence of Sheikh Al Sabah, in Washington, is truly palatial and once stepped in, one feels like being in Kuwait, at the Royal Palace. Sheikha Rima is undeniably one of the most beautiful and best dressed women of the Washington's social set: her style and exquisite ways to entertain at their residence makes an invite to the Kuwaiti Embassy a golden ticket to an evening of power and glamour.
Last night, among the 120 guests arrived to honor the distinguished achievements of President Clinton and Dr. Angelou in children's education, there were Ambassadors, Bankers, Royals and 5 (five!) secretaries of the Obama administration, including Janet Napolitano. A true powerhouse!
We were honored to be there and listen to the always inspiring words of the most charismatic of former Presidents of the USA, touched by Maya Angelou's spirit and love; and blessed to call the Ambassador and Mrs Al Sabah our "friends", after meeting them in Capri this past Summer, while vacationing on the blue island with their 4 children, like a very "normal" family. It is a privilege to do what we do: the freedom of creating beautiful jewelry becomes the opportunity to meet the most beautiful people in the world!
Now, back on the Acela to NYC: We have got lots of jewels to make!

Faraone Mennella London

The stylish and sophisticated boutique of Faraone Mennella opened in November 2010 in Knightsbridge (London) at 28 Lowndes Street. The hundred square feet boutique is on two levels, decorated with Murano 1960's chandeliers, gray silk walls, a VIP room and a collection of one of a kind jewles made just for the London boutique.

Luxury Lifestyle Awards 2011

The Luxury Lifestyle Awards is the first and the only Ukrainian Award presented for the greatest achievements in the luxury industry. Prize-winners are the best companies and brands, which meet demands of  consumers with high incomes. The ceremony Luxury Lifestyle Awards 2011 took place on November 24 at d'lux club in Kiev (Ukraine). All winners were awarded with the Golden Crown manufactured by Faraone Mennella who was among the sponsors of the event.
